A high-strength, nickel-based superalloy used from cryogenic temperatures up to long-term service at extremely hot environments in the 1800F range and beyond. One of the newest of the materials suitable for manufacturing using the DMLS process, Inconel 718 has allowed users to realize rapid manufacturing as a production process, replacing using similar but not exact materials. Processing requirements includes a one-hour stress relief. Parts are able to be welded, polished, and machined.
